The Hidden Psychology Behind Every Color You See
Hi creator,
The last time you walked into a fast-food restaurant, did you notice how the bright red and yellow made you feel slightly restless, eager to order and leave? That wasn’t an accident.
The science behind our color response
colors can trigger parts of our brain and these parts decide how we feel by the color we see in our daily life. Let me explain red triggers alertness, because of its association with blood and fire and blue calms us, because we connect the color blue with sky and water. And if we see colors together for example red and yellow we directly thing about McDonalds and if we see something purple we thing about expensive products that is how our brain is divided by different feelings but also connection on what we can buy or get for these colors.
How different color combinations create specific moods
While individual colors have their own emotional impact as we discussed in the beginning, the real magic happens when the colors interact. Think of a color combination as emotional recipes mix the right ingredients and you create a specific feeling for everyone.
For example red and green you immediately think about Christmas or orange and blue feels both dramatic and peaceful and a brand for example FedEX combined purple and orange to convey both luxury and energy if we see these colors we directly think about something expensive.
Think about blue and green these colors create a sense of flow and calm we immediately think about a forest, ocean,...
So it is important when we build a business we think about the color combinations we use so our potential clients get a good feeling when they see your company colors. So if you ever think about starting a business first make a good color combination and think about the feeling you want to create.
This was it for this week I hope you find it inspiring and that I give you some good ideas
Have a creative week and remember I’m watching from a far.
